Her devoted planning was put to the test when a student at her child’s school brought in a weapon. Luckily, and largely in part to her child’s swift reporting of the event, no one was injured. While her child advised the nearest security guard of the incident, she later found out that no formal report was ever sent to school officials or that the matter was ever taken seriously.
The weight of this incident pushed her to bring her expertise in human resources into the security industry. Starting as a low-level manager for a national security company, she quickly worked her way up and earned the title of Operations Manager. After years of success and a desire to better the security industry, she decided to start her own school safety-certified firm, Effective Guard Professionals.
